Our combined 3's and 4's program:

MAC offers a small, boutique learning environment with an 8 to 1 student to Teacher ratio.  Adopting a small, sensory reduced atmosphere has allowed children to comfortably learn and explore while providing much more flexibility in the daily schedule than we had when the center was larger.  Our carefully crafted program is age appropriate, all with the goal of encouraging curious, happy, and confident children who, above all, fully experience the joys of childhood.

Our  program focuses on the developmental needs of children. The environment is created with respect to each child’s particular learning style. Both of our inside and outside spaces are rich in the materials children require to grow physically, intellectually and emotionally.

What is play based learning?

Play-based Learning Defined

Children naturally learn through play by engaging in and making sense of their world.  Play-based learning is self-chosen, enjoyable and process-oriented. These opportunities are experiences that are child-directed and teacher-facilitated in which teachers take an active role as intentional planners, observers and guides. Learning through guided play opportunities specifically maintains the joy of free play while allowing children to connect authentically with content.  When children co-construct their learning with their teachers and peers, they apply it to their own lives making meaningful, personal discoveries as they progress towards learning goals.

Every day, children have the opportunity to explore, discover and wallow in our diverse education offerings through play.  We have established a true child-centered learning space based on the philosophy brought to light by Bev Bos that:
“Experience is not the best teacher, it is the only teacher!”
We work hard to provide children with a positive, non-pressured, non-judgmental school atmosphere. Our loving staff is fluent in the following areas; art, science, language, music, play environments, gardening and child development. Integrating arts, sciences, and environmental activities fosters holistic child development by stimulating cognitive growth, emotional resilience, and physical coordination. As of 2025, research emphasizes that these disciplines are deeply interconnected; for example, music and gardening both serve as "living laboratories" for learning math and science while simultaneously enhancing language and social skills
